A large part of the working environment is focused upon the score where you can place multiple symbols. A help manual is available in case you do not manage to decode the configuration settings on your own.
Notation tweaks
Mus2 gives you the possibility to make use of a built-in player in order to listen to the created song. You are allowed to play or stop the current audio selection, and rewind or fast-forward.
What’s more, you can activate a metronome and choose between various types of accidentals or import them from SVG, NAC, MUS2, or NVT file format. Plus, you may acquire accidentals from fonts and fine-tune their vertical position and scale.
The utility lets you add information about the score, such as title, subtitle, composer, author, comments, and keywords.
Advanced parameters can be used for altering each note in terms of pitch, key signature, and MIDI key map. Cleanup actions can be employed for getting rid of accidentals and tunings from your score.

This is an easy-to-learn software for microtonal and Turkish maqam music. It offers an entire library of available maqam, scale, and microtonal systems and has the ability to create any one of them. The application comes with a powerful set of features, such as the ability to edit multiple notes, chords, keys, and even accidents at once.

I am a recent purchase of this particular piece of software after many years of searching for a solution to the need for my music. This is a somewhat expensive value for the money but the people at Mus2 have delivered an exceptionally attractive, sharp and stable program, unlike programs in the past.
I have extensive knowledge of Gregorian chant and I find many of the microtonal features of this program useful for selecting chants for publication. I used a previous version of this program for this purpose and found it to be good for a beginner.
I should mention that this program does not have the extensive set of features that can be found on programs such as Kyma which has an extremely large user base. If you are after a full featured package, you might want to give this a look.
If you are new to the world of microtonal melodies, this is the perfect program to get you started.
I have enjoyed using Mus2 for a long while now and actually bought the “supplier version” a few months ago for personal use.
Like Mus2 itself, it actually has a very clean interface with a multitude of different options. There are actually tons of options, depending on your tastes, to customize the program to what you need.
For starters, there is a tabbed player on the left, where you can switch from notes to scale, and even simple chords, to much more exotic system configurations such as octatonic and Eb7 systems. There are also many tunings to choose from, which is great for the composers.
The note editor does not have a lot of options, however, and you can’t do much with the keyboard. Still, it’s a start for first-timers, and relatively intuitive.
The editor is clean and easy to use, and doesn’t add too much clutter to the interface (which is my only complaint about the interface).
